Building and construction facilities

Our $80 million industry-standard building and construction facilities allows us to train across a wide range of different trade areas including painting and decorating, plastering, glass and glazing, tiling, flooring, and roofing. Our training spaces replicate both commercial and residential settings, giving our students as close to a real-world environment as possible.

Our painting and decoration facilities include over 40 painting and decorating booths as well as wallpapering and spraying facilities where you'll learn numerous painting and finishing methods.

Our high ceiling workshops allow us to train students in working safely at heights and erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding.

We maintain a low impact on the environment with our chemical recycling stations, where we also teach students the importance of safely handling chemicals.

With regular donations from our industry partners, you'll have access to new and emerging products, ensuring you're up-to-date with the latest industry trends and techniques.

Our glass and glazing workshop at our Eagle Farm campus is a purpose-built, simulated training environment that allows our glaziers to learn skills in the manufacturing, processing, moving, and installation of various types of glass and components. You'll learn to select, cut, install, replace, and remove glass in a variety of settings including balustrades, glass splashbacks, mirror walls, shower enclosures, windows, shopfronts, and curtain wall framing on high-rise buildings.

Our plastering facilities at the Acacia Ridge campus provide our plastering apprentices with the perfect environment to learn their craft. With 14 purpose-built wall and ceiling plastering booths and two specialised high ceiling structures we teach the latest techniques for both domestic and commercial plastering applications. In our ten solid plastering training rooms we teach restorative and decorative techniques, providing industry with apprentices that have the necessary experience to become competent and highly-skilled plasterers.

The tiling facilities at our Acacia Ridge campus include classrooms, training booths and workshops where you'll learn technical and architectural tiling methods including mosaic and curved surface tiling in pools, spas, and decorative areas.

Our tiling students also have access to ceramic, clay, slate, marble, and glass to learn different techniques in cutting and laying whilst creating protective and ornamental finishes.

Working side by side with employers keeps us up to date with industry standards using the latest innovative products and practices on the market.

Our industry-standard flooring training workshop at Acacia Ridge simulates commercial and residential environments, mirroring a real-world work environment. Our workshop is equipped to train students in the preparation and installation of concrete floors and sealants, epoxy and seamless floor coverings, densifiers, carpet, resilient, vinyl, and timber flooring. You'll also learn how to install decorative flooring, from initial design right through to installation.

Our roof tilers train in a real-world simulated environment at our Acacia Ridge location on roofs of all pitches and designs. We train to every aspect of the trade, from working safely on roofs using the latest tools and equipment, to cutting materials to fit around vents and chimney edges. You'll learn how to repair and replace valleys and valley irons, install barge tiles, secure roofing underlays, fix ridge caps and gable ends with cement mortar, and install concrete and terracotta tiles, stone slates and wooden shingles.

Simulated construction workshops

Students studying construction trades including shopfitting and wet trades will complete their training in our fully-simulated construction worksite. The site contains heavy duty scaffolding, aluminium tower scaffolding, and two elevated work platforms for completing working safely at heights training. You'll learn hands on with access to an extensive range of battery-powered hand tools including a vertical wall saw.
