Contractor and visitor induction

One of TAFE Queensland’s core values is safety first; we make the health and safety of people working, learning or visiting any of our locations our top priority.

Before any contractor or visitor commences work at TAFE Queensland they must complete a contractor and visitor induction and a site-specific induction. Upon completion of this induction participation will be recorded on our contractor and visitor induction register.

The site-specific induction is undertaken by our facilities teams, in conjunction with Workplace, Health and Safety if required, prior to work commencing. If contractors or visitors are working across multiple locations, they must complete a site-specific induction for each location.

All contractors are required to present the appropriate risk management documentation to the facilities teams or Workplace, Health and Safety teams on request, prior to a Work Area Access Permit (WAAP) being approved and work commencing.

Nothing in TAFE Queensland's induction process may be construed as implying or suggesting that the contractor or visitor is in anyway released or absolved from fully complying with all statutory obligations of common law.

Please note it is a requirement that the contractor and visitor induction and site-specific Induction are completed annually.
