Award-winning Senior College continues to inspire success for our community
If you are looking for an alternative to a traditional high school experience for your teen, look no further than the award-winning Senior College program.
TAFE Queensland’s Senior College is proud to be awarded the Redlands Business Award in the category of Education and Training at the Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards on Saturday, 19 October.
Liz Morgan, Leading Vocational Teacher for Senior College, said the award recognises the outstanding achievements of the Senior College teachers and staff in delivering an exceptional educational experience to Year 11 and 12 students in the Redland and Greater Brisbane community.
“Senior College is an inclusive learning environment that celebrates young people and provides them with a supportive educational pathway,” Liz said.
“Our school allows students to achieve socially and academically by developing tailored learning plans to meet their individual needs,” she continues, “this award demonstrates that our unique approach to high school education is a successful one. It’s a fantastic program that changes our students’ lives.”
Senior College’s innovative approach allows students aged 15-18 to earn their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or pursue an Adult Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) in a mature, adult learning environment.
Offered at TAFE Queensland's Alexandra Hills campus, Senior College gives students a pathway into vocational study with TAFE Queensland, entry into university, or the knowledge and skills to go straight into the workforce after graduating.
For over 30 years, the Senior College team have built an award-winning and thriving educational community that empowers students to overcome challenges, develop their strengths, and succeed.
